acm-w-logoMission Statement of ACM-W
ACM-W supports, celebrates, and advocates internationally for the full engagement of women in all aspects of the computing field, providing a wide range of programs and services to ACM members and working in the larger community to advance the contributions of technical women.

About the Florida Atlantic University Chapter
The Florida Atlantic University (FAU) chapter was started on September 18, 2015. Our aim is to bring together women in computing fields on campus and facillitate educational, professional, and social events that will combat the shortage of women in computing. In addition to providing support for students currently enrolled in these programs, we strive to instill a love of computing in the next generation. Studies conclude that 74% of middle school girls show an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) fields, but only 0.4% of those girls pursue Computer Science as their major in college (Girls Who Code). By partnering with local high schools and community outreach programs, we hope to encourage more girls to purse computer related fields.
